music video-product

the link to our music video

How well does your production demonstrate understanding of Representation, Media Language, Genre, and Audience?
·         Unfortunately one of the models who was meant to be in our music video resigned, meaning we had little cultural representation, however we made sure to include girls that represented all heights and facades etc.  We used the song girls as we wanted to use lots of different girls in our music video and I think we did this successfully. However in the opening of our music video we included various languages to show inclusivity and representation of lots of different countries,
·         Our audience was aged 16-26, and our use of bright colours and young models I think demonstrated our understanding of this audience. I think the bright aesthetic of our music video could attract young people. It also is a lot of fun and is light-hearted which I would hope the young generation would like.
·         The genre was our choice and we chose pop. I think our music video falls in the category of pop as it has some conventions of a pop music video such as  tints and filters to boost colours, many close ups of artists faces and shots of dancing/partying scenes.
·         We used direct mode of address, extreme close up, and close ups. However I think to improve our music video, our models could be better prepared for the lyrics, and we could include a more varied range of shots.
